Installing food forests, restoring native land, and empowering self reliance across Dunghutti Country and beyond.

At Taranar Permaculture, we believe that the solutions to our modern challenges are growing right outside our back door. We don’t just design gardens; we design resilient, self sustaining ecosystems that work with nature rather than against it. By mimicking the patterns and relationships found in wild ecosystems, we help people create landscapes that are rich in biodiversity, highly productive, and deeply connected to the local environment.

“The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings”
– Masanobu Fukuoka
Taranar is a permaculturist installing food forests and edible ecosystems on Dunghutti Country (Mid North Coast, NSW) working all over Australia and throughout the world. He facilitates workshops on food security and bush regeneration from the South Coast of NSW to the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Driven by a passion for landscape regeneration, Taranar explores how communities can genuinely belong to and benefit from the natural world. He envisions a future where human needs are met in balance with nature, actively celebrating our role in rebuilding and enriching complex ecosystems.
With a passion for regenerating landscapes and discovering ways people can truly belong to and benefit from them, Taranar is motivated to explore how we can celebrate human involvement in rebuilding complex ecosystems. He dreams of an Earth where we can meet human needs while actively enriching the health of the land around us
Taranar discovered permaculture after realising that conventional landscape design and agriculture often fight a losing battle against nature. With a background in horticulture, vegetable gardening, running organic café and food delivery services, community organizing, visual design, and regenerative agriculture, coupled with a lifelong love for nature. Taranar fell in love with the way permaculture brings everything together in a way that makes sense, giving us purpose as children of the earth.
Whether you have a small urban balcony, a suburban backyard, or a sprawling rural property, we meet you where you are on your sustainability journey.
Organic ecological restoration: regenerating landscapes through the use of native endemic plants and mycelium. Taking the intentional steps to restore balance back towards its original historic trajectory, regaining its ecological function before it was degraded by human intervention.
Edible Landscaping & Food Forests: Turning boring lawns into abundant, low maintenance food systems. Water Harvesting & Earthworks: Designing swales, ponds, and rain gardens to keep precious water on your land.
Permaculture Consultations & Education: Empowering you with the practical skills and recommendations needed to observe, understand, and guide you to cultivate your own patch of earth.

We Forest Earth was born from an awareness that weed ridden land can be optimised to its maximum potential, whilst harmoniously bringing ecosystems into balance without the use of toxic chemicals. We Forest Earth focuses on the interconnectedness of nature and community. Bridging the gap between land and custodians.
Through witnessing mushrooms using trees as their host and aiding in its decomposition, as well as the the natural succession that occurs in mushroom log cultivation, Mycoregen was spawned.
The Mycoregen process is We Forests Earth’s practice of biomimicry.
Mycoregen: the process or action of regeneration through the use of native mycelium.
